Lors de l’Unlock phase, un Methuselah doit payer 1 pool pour pouvoir unlocker un Vampire ayant ce trait. Si un Methuselah contrôle X Vampire infernaux, il devra payer X pools s’il veut les unlocker tous. Un Methuselah peut décider d’unlocker un ou plusieurs Vampires infernaux: celui-ci devra faire le choix de payer ou non le pool pour chacun de ses Vampires infernaux. On considère que les Vampires infernaux n’unlockent pas «as normal». Il est possible qu’à la fin de l’Unlock phase, un Vampire infernal soit toujours locké.
